In a strongly worded statement released on Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the All Progressives Congress described the comments made by Peoples Democratic Party governors as hypocritical, misleading, and comically ironic.

The PDP governors, at a recent meeting in Zamfara State, had alleged that the APC lacked democratic values and a clear vision ahead of the 2027 general elections.

But the ruling party quickly countered, asserting that the PDP was in no position to issue such criticism.

“It is morbidly comical for the governors of the PDP, a party in deep comatose, savagely crippled by intractable crisis of its own making… to make statements that aptly describe their own doomed fate,” the APC statement read.

The APC slams PDP governors for what it described as “empty rhetoric” and cited its own recent victories in bye-elections as proof that President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda is gaining public trust.

It added that despite receiving record-breaking federal allocations — including ₦2 trillion as of July 2025 — the PDP governors had failed to deliver meaningful development or progress in their states.

“Even with federal revenue allocation more than doubled under this President of Progress, the PDP governors have continued to fail their citizens with disgracefully dismal performance,” Morka stated.

The APC also called out the opposition for inconsistency in their political stance, saying they only support democracy when it favours them and reject it when they lose.

“These inept governors are in no position to suggest to Nigerian voters what their disposition to the 2027 elections should be,” the statement continued.

Reaffirming its commitment to Nigeria’s recovery and progress, the APC urged the public to ignore what it called the PDP’s distractions and stay focused on the government’s economic reforms.
