The former Lagos State Governor firmly rejected these claims, emphasizing his unwavering loyalty to the ruling party and its leadership.
In a clear statement issued over the weekend by Seyi Bamigbade, Director General of the Tinubu-Ambode Support Group, Ambode dismissed the reports as “fabricated news” and politically motivated attempts to create division.
“Our attention has been drawn to a false and malicious narrative circulating on social media alleging that His Excellency, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, plans to contest for governor under the ADC platform.
We categorically reject this as fabricated news, a deliberate attempt by rumor mongers and political opportunists to sow discord,” the statement read.
Ambode’s commitment to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC, the ruling party, remains “steadfast and non-negotiable.”
It also confirmed that he has not engaged in any talks with the ADC or any other political group outside the APC regarding future political ambitions.
Bamigbade called on the public to disregard these baseless claims and urged those spreading the misinformation to engage in more constructive endeavors rather than stoking political tensions.
