The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State described the rumors as deliberate misinformation meant to confuse voters.
The party emphasized that while it supports President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 bid, that support is rooted in regional equity—not political alignment with APC candidates at the local level.
According to PDP spokesperson Kayode Adebayo, the story circulating on social media suggesting the party had conceded to the All Progressives Congress (APC) was “a blatant lie.”
Top party leaders, including Oladipupo Adebutu, reaffirmed that PDP remains fully committed to its candidate for the bye-election and criticized the APC’s performance in Ogun, pointing out that Governor Dapo Abiodun lost his ward to the PDP in 2023.
