Dabo, who served as chairman of the APC caucus in Dambatta Local Government Area, announced his resignation in a letter dated October 7, 2026.

The letter was addressed to the chairman of the party’s Dambatta Gabas Ward, where he formally communicated his decision to leave the APC.

In the letter, Dabo said he made the decision after careful consideration of personal reasons and his future plans.

He added that he had submitted the resignation letter to the appropriate party officials in Dambatta for further action.

Despite his departure, the former NPA managing director expressed appreciation to the APC leadership for giving him the opportunity to serve and for the confidence reposed in him during his time in the party.

“I remain grateful for the cordial relationship I enjoyed and appreciative of the experience gained during my time of service,” he said.

Dabo is a former governorship aspirant in Kano State. He also previously served as the state’s Commissioner for Land.

His resignation comes as political parties and their members continue to position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
