NDC Denies Releasing Official Primary Election Results Nationwide

NDC says it has not released official primary election results nationwide and urges members to disregard circulating lists amid internal discussions

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has clarified that it has not released any official results of its recently concluded primary elections across the country, amid reports suggesting changes to candidates in Kano State.

The party issued the clarification in a statement on Tuesday through its National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, while responding to circulating claims regarding alleged removals from the list of winners.

The clarification comes after reports claimed that some candidates loyal to Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso had been dropped from the Kano State list of primary election winners.

The party, however, dismissed the reports as inaccurate, stating that no official result list has been made public.

The focus keyword NDC primary election results clarification reflects the party’s position that all published lists in circulation should be disregarded by members and the general public.

“NDC has not released any official results of primary elections in any state. The public is urged to disregard any such list in circulation,” the statement said.

The party also confirmed that a high-level meeting was held between a delegation of the Kwankwasiyya Movement and the national leadership of the NDC.

The meeting reportedly took place on Monday night and involved discussions aimed at resolving internal issues affecting the party structure in Kano State.

According to the statement, the closed-door meeting included the national leadership of the party and Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, who is playing a mediating role in the process.

The NDC said the discussions were focused on promoting inclusion and strengthening internal democracy within the party.

It further assured members that no candidates would be imposed, either in Kano State or any other part of the country.

“The NDC leadership will not impose candidates in Kano State or across the nation as the party cherishes internal democracy,” the statement added.

The party described the meeting as productive, noting that efforts were ongoing to ensure unity and stability within its ranks ahead of future political activities.
