Danladi Jatau Calls APC Primary Outcome Positive Shock

Danladi Jatau APC Primary Outcome Reaction as Nasarawa Speaker accepts APC primaries as act of God and urges unity within the party

The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau, on Wednesday described the outcome of the recently concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections as an act of God, stating that he has accepted the result with humility and political maturity.

Danladi Jatau reacts to APC primary outcome came as party members across Nasarawa State continue to reflect on the outcomes of the internal elections conducted in line with Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) guidelines.

Jatau said the primaries were properly conducted within the stipulated timetable, stressing that electoral contests are inherently competitive and naturally produce winners and losers.

He noted that political participation requires acceptance of outcomes, regardless of personal expectations, while maintaining respect for democratic procedures and internal party regulations.

“Political contests come with two possible outcomes, victory or defeat. Some of our colleagues were successful in the primaries, and I congratulate them on their emergence,” he said.

The Speaker acknowledged that some aspirants who are dissatisfied with the results have opted to seek redress through party structures, expressing confidence that such grievances would be addressed fairly.

He maintained that his personal reaction to the outcome has been shaped by faith, experience and a strong commitment to sportsmanship in politics.

“For me, I have long cultivated the spirit of sportsmanship. I see what happened as the will of God, and I have accepted it wholeheartedly and in good faith,” Jatau stated.

He also expressed gratitude for his political journey, noting that both success and setbacks should be embraced as part of public service.

Jatau further urged APC members and supporters to remain united and focused on the collective interests of the party, stressing that cohesion would be essential ahead of future elections.
