ADC Plateau Governorship Primary Delayed Over Materials

The governorship primary election of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Plateau State was delayed on Thursday due to the late arrival of electoral materials in several local government areas.

As of 1:00 p.m., voting had not commenced in key areas, including Jos North and Jos South, where party members and officials were still awaiting accreditation materials and election guidelines.

Party members remained at designated venues as anticipation built across the state, with no clear start time announced at the affected centres.

The Plateau State chairman of the ADC, Hannatu Gagara, confirmed the development in a telephone interview, attributing the delay to logistical challenges.

“We are still expecting the arrival of electoral materials, but we are optimistic that the primary election will be conducted today,” Gagara said.

Despite the setback, party officials expressed confidence that the exercise would still hold once materials arrived at the various centres.

Supporters remained on standby across the affected local government areas as they awaited further directives from the party’s electoral committee.
