Goje Rejects Controversial APC Primary Result in Gombe

APC Gombe Central primary result dismissed by Senator Goje, who says circulated figures are unofficial and unauthorised

Senator Muhammadu Danjuma Goje on Monday dismissed reports circulating on the outcome of the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary for Gombe Central, insisting that no official declaration has been made by the party’s national leadership.

The lawmaker’s position was contained in a statement issued by his Special Assistant, Ahmed Isa Kashere, following reports that retired Deputy Commissioner of Police Mohammed Ahmadu had emerged winner of the contest.

Unofficial figures attributed to the election reportedly indicated that Ahmadu polled 42,785 votes, while Goje secured 10,425 votes in the exercise held in Gombe State.

Gombe central APC Primary election result has since generated political debate within party circles, with differing accounts of the exercise circulating among stakeholders ahead of the 2027 general elections.

However, Senator Goje maintained that the figures being circulated were not authentic, urging supporters and residents of Gombe Central Senatorial District to disregard what he described as misleading reports.

He stressed that only the national leadership of the APC is constitutionally empowered to announce the final and official outcome of primary elections.

Political observers say the dispute reflects growing tension within the party as aspirants position themselves ahead of the next electoral cycle.
