Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has dismissed reports suggesting he has left the All Progressives Congress, All Progressives Congress, insisting that he remains a loyal member of the party.

The governor made the clarification on Wednesday after inspecting the newly reconstructed Rivers State Psychiatric Hospital, which has been converted into a general hospital in Rumuigbo, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
Fubara described the reports circulating on social media as false and misleading, urging the public to disregard rumours about his political affiliation.
He stressed that he remains firmly committed to the APC and aligned with its objectives at both state and national levels.
“There is no truth in claims that I have shifted allegiance,” he said, calling for caution against misinterpretation of political statements and activities.
Beyond the political clarification, the governor also spoke on the hospital project, explaining that the upgrade was necessary to improve access to healthcare services in the area.
He noted that residents previously had to travel long distances, often to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, to receive specialised treatment.
Fubara said the completion of the facility reflects his administration’s commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery and improving the welfare of residents across Rivers State.

The project, he added, forms part of broader efforts to expand critical infrastructure and ensure more accessible medical services in underserved communities.
