Zamfara APC Screens 114 Aspirants Ahead of 2027 Assembly Polls

Zamfara APC has screened 114 aspirants for 24 State Assembly seats ahead of the 2027 general elections in the state

The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, All Progressives Congress has concluded the screening of aspirants seeking to contest seats in the State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The exercise was held in Gusau, where party officials reviewed candidates vying for various constituencies across the state.

According to the party’s spokesperson, Hon. Ibrahim Muhammad Birnin Magaji, a total of 114 aspirants were involved in the process for the 24 available seats under the APC platform.

He explained that 105 aspirants were physically screened, while nine others failed to appear despite obtaining nomination forms.

Birnin Magaji said the party had earlier issued notifications to all aspirants, urging them to participate in the screening exercise.

“We have sent out announcements and invitations to these aspirants to show up for the exercise,” he said.

He added that the screening committee is still evaluating the candidates and will communicate its final decisions after completing its assessment.

“We are in the process of clearing those who have no problems, so at the end of the exercise those who are without any blemish will know, and those with one or two issues to clear will know,” he stated.

The party noted that the screening process remains part of its internal preparations for a competitive selection process ahead of the 2027 polls.
