Leneke, popularly known as Leader Andrew Leneke, is from Demsa Local Government Area and is widely recognised in Adamawa State as a lawyer and prominent master of ceremony who coordinates high-profile events across the state.
The nomination was conveyed in a letter sent by Governor Fintiri and read during Tuesday’s plenary session presided over by Speaker Bathiya Wesley.
After the letter was presented before lawmakers, the Speaker directed the Clerk of the House to invite the nominee for screening on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
The nomination comes at a time when the Adamawa State Ministry of Health is without a substantive commissioner following the resignation of Dr Felix Tangwami.
Tangwami recently stepped down from the cabinet over his reported ambition to contest for another political office.
It remains unclear which ministry Leneke will oversee if the Assembly confirms his appointment.
