The announcement was contained in a statement issued by Adam Said Adam, Director-General of Social Media for the NDC in Kano State.
According to the statement, the decision followed a directive from the State Chairman of the party, Hon. Husaini Isah Mai Riga, who explained that the postponement was necessary to ensure proper planning and inclusiveness.
Hon. Husaini Isah Mai Riga said the party had recently witnessed a notable influx of prominent political figures into its ranks, requiring additional time to integrate new members into the process.
He stated that the adjustment was aimed at ensuring a smooth, fair, and well-organised congress that reflects the growing structure of the party in the state.
The party leadership added that the development was a positive sign of expansion and increasing political interest in the NDC across Kano State.
A new date for the congress will be announced once all preparations have been completed and internal arrangements finalised.
