Kwara APC Stakeholders Petition Tinubu Over Party Crisis

Kwara APC crisis petition Tinubu as stakeholders accuse Governor AbdulRazaq of party division risks ahead of the 2027 elections

Some stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State have petitioned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday, April 24, 2026, raising concerns over alleged internal tensions within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The petition, submitted at the APC national secretariat in Abuja and addressed to President Tinubu and other party leaders, was presented by Hon. Olosasa Toyin and signed by Comrade Onimasa Hazmat Ganeey and Alhaji Abdulraheem Alabi.

The group claimed that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has engaged in actions they described as politically damaging to the party’s structure and unity in the state.

According to the stakeholders, the alleged conduct includes poor handling of governance issues, strained relations with party members, and decisions they believe are affecting APC’s public image in Kwara State.

They also raised concerns over alleged succession politics, claiming that there are efforts to position the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Danladi Yakubu, as a preferred successor in 2027.

The petitioners warned that such developments could deepen internal divisions and create further instability within the party if not properly managed.

They further alleged that dissenting voices within the party have faced pressure and legal challenges, claims which they say are contributing to growing dissatisfaction among members.

The stakeholders also expressed concern over political developments linked to the reopening of the 2018 Offa robbery case involving former Senate President Bukola Saraki, describing it as politically sensitive.

They cautioned that such moves could generate public sympathy for opposition figures and potentially affect the APC’s electoral strength in future contests.

The group urged President Tinubu and the national leadership of the APC to intervene urgently to prevent further escalation of tensions in Kwara State.
