Obong Victor Attah is a highly respected Nigerian architect and politician who served as the Governor of Akwa Ibom State from 1999 to 2007.
Born on November 20, 1938, Attah is a distinguished professional with degrees from prestigious institutions like Leeds College of Art, Liverpool University, and Columbia University.
Prior to his political career, he had a successful architectural practice in the Caribbean, New York City, and Nigeria, even serving as the national president of the Nigerian Institute of Architects.
As governor, Attah was a vocal advocate for resource control and championed the establishment of the Akwa Ibom State University of Technology.
