ADC Imo State Re-Elects James Okoroma in Strong Victory

ADC Imo State Re-elects James Okoroma as former chairman returns alongside 15 executives during a state congress in Owerri

The African Democratic Congress, African Democratic Congress in Imo State has re-elected its former State Chairman, James Okoroma, alongside 15 members of the State Executive Committee during a congress held in Owerri.

The election, conducted through voice votes, also returned key officials including Deputy State Chairman Demian Ezeagu, State Publicity Secretary Macdonald Amadi, State Legal Adviser Barr. Kissinger Ikeokwu, as well as chairpersons representing the three geopolitical zones in the state.

The congress was overseen by a delegation from the ADC national headquarters, led by committee chairman Okem UK, who supervised proceedings at the Kanu Nwankwo Sports Arena.

Former Imo State Governor Emeka Ihedioha, who attended the event, expressed satisfaction with the turnout of delegates from all 27 local government areas, describing the mobilisation as impressive.

Emeka Ihedioha noted that the party had reportedly registered over 200,000 members in the state, adding that registration efforts would continue beyond the congress exercise to further expand its base.

Another former governor of the state, Achike Udenwa, also commended the conduct of delegates, praising the peaceful and organised nature of the congress and expressing confidence in the party’s growing structure.

He added that the successful completion of ward and local government congresses across Imo State contributed significantly to the smooth conduct of the state-level exercise.

In his acceptance speech, James Okoroma thanked party leaders and members for their renewed confidence in his leadership, pledging to serve with commitment and work towards strengthening the party’s prospects in the state.

Okoroma also expressed optimism about the party’s future, noting that the involvement of experienced political figures within its leadership would help build a stronger foundation ahead of upcoming elections.
