The ADC Plateau chairman backs Mark leadership position was made known during a press interaction in Jos, where Mrs Gagara insisted that the leadership structure headed by Sen.
David Mark as chairman and Rauf Aregbesola as secretary was validly constituted by the party’s National Executive Committee.
Mrs Gagara maintained that anyone laying claim to alternative leadership within the African Democratic Congress was an impostor whose actions were capable of creating confusion and disaffection among party members.
She expressed confidence that the party would emerge stronger despite internal disagreements.
She stressed that her position was informed by her participation in the National Executive Committee meeting where the current leadership was ratified, noting that all state chairpersons present were part of the consensus that endorsed the appointments.
According to her, the Plateau chapter of the party remains united and focused on presenting itself as a credible alternative to the ruling party.
She added that internal preparations for ward and state congresses had commenced, with screenings already underway ahead of the main exercise.
The congresses, scheduled to hold across the state, are expected to be monitored in line with electoral regulations, following communication with the Independent National Electoral Commission to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
Mrs Gagara urged party members to participate actively in the ongoing processes, expressing optimism that the outcome of the congresses would strengthen internal cohesion and reinforce the party’s organisational structure.
