Tanko Confronts Okoro Over Claim Obi Admitted Losing 2023 Election

Obi election claim proof is questioned as Yunusa Tanko challenges Lawrence Okoro to substantiate allegations of a private admission

Yunusa Tanko, the national coordinator of the Obidient Movement, has challenged an 𝕏 user, Lawrence Okoro, to provide evidence supporting his claim that former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi privately admitted losing the 2023 presidential election.

Proof of Obi’s election claim controversy emerged after Lawrence Okoro alleged that Peter Obi made the remark during a closed-door meeting with selected individuals shortly after the polls, stating that the outcome was influenced by the absence of party agents at polling units.

In his post, Lawrence Okoro, who described himself as a former member of the Obidient Movement, said the purported admission came during discussions centred on post-election strategies, including the “All Eyes On The Judiciary” campaign.

He further claimed that when he questioned Peter Obi on why the matter was still being pursued in court if the election had been lost, the room reacted negatively while Obi reportedly remained silent.

Yunusa Tanko dismissed the claims and insisted that no such meeting or discussion ever took place.

He challenged Lawrence Okoro to substantiate his statement with credible evidence.

Yunusa Tanko maintained that the Obidient Movement has consistently held the position that Peter Obi won the election, alleging that the results were manipulated.

He referenced issues surrounding the Independent National Electoral Commission’s Result Viewing portal, stating that results were not uploaded in real time as expected, which raised concerns about the integrity of the process.
