Chibudum Nwuche praises PDP national convention and commends Nyesom Wike’s leadership, saying it strengthened party unity and democracy
Former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the South-South Development Commission, Chibudum Nwuche, has commended the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and its national leader, Nyesom Wike, for the successful conduct of its national convention held last Sunday.

Chibudum Nwuche, who is also a member of the PDP Board of Trustees, described the convention as peaceful, orderly, and reflective of the party’s commitment to democratic principles and internal stability.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Nwuche said the outcome of the convention has strengthened confidence in the PDP’s ability to organise itself and play a central role in Nigeria’s democratic process.
He particularly praised Wike for his efforts in keeping the party united, noting that the convention demonstrated improved cohesion within the opposition party.
Nwuche also acknowledged the contributions of several key party figures, including former Senate President Bukola Saraki, ex-governors Sule Lamido, Ahmed Makarfi, and Ibrahim Dankwambo, as well as other senior stakeholders who supported the process.
He commended the Convention Planning Committee, chaired by former Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, for what he described as effective organisation and attention to detail that ensured a smooth and transparent exercise.
The PDP chieftain further congratulated the newly elected national officers and urged them to prioritise inclusiveness, unity, and party repositioning ahead of future political engagements.

He expressed confidence that the convention would strengthen the PDP’s national appeal and reinforce its role in Nigeria’s democratic landscape.
