The endorsement, ratified at the North Central APC Congress, included governors, ministers, party chieftains, and grassroots mobilisers. Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State formally seconded the motion.

Akume described the North Central zone as the “glue” binding Nigeria’s ethnic diversity and emphasised its historic role in preserving national unity.

He commended governors and ministers in the zone for their “exceptional performance” under the Tinubu administration.

“Do not sleep, you must toil and sweat as if we control only 10 states, so that our victory will be huge and indisputable,” Akume urged party faithful.

Highlighting economic progress, he referenced Nigeria’s $51 billion foreign reserves, noting it as a milestone under Tinubu’s leadership.

Governor Sule also praised policy reforms that have enabled some states to execute projects without borrowing.

The motion was overwhelmingly endorsed by voice vote, with no dissent.
