ADC leadership warns faction members against issuing statements in the party’s name, citing potential legal action and financial sanctions
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) leadership, led by National Chairman Nafi’u Bala Gombe, on Sunday issued a formal warning to Bolaji Abdullahi, National Publicity Secretary of the David Mark-led faction, over the unauthorised use of the party’s name and logo.

The party, currently embroiled in a court-sanctioned leadership dispute, advised Abdullahi that he is not authorised to speak on behalf of the ADC.
The leadership instructed that any individual wishing to join the party must do so through established registration channels at their political ward in Kwara State.
The warning, contained in a statement signed by Bala Gombe and Rufus Ikanmi, Secretary of the Board of Trustees, also instructed banks and financial institutions to halt all transactions involving ADC accounts with unauthorised parties.
The statement emphasised that further dealings, including lending, withdrawal, or transfer of funds, will be treated as financial crimes and prosecuted under relevant laws.
“The African Democratic Congress remains a party for all Nigerians, and membership is open to everyone through the established registration process,” the statement read in part.

The ADC leadership reiterated its commitment to lawful operations, stressing that the warning is necessary to protect the party’s integrity and assets amidst ongoing internal disputes.
