PDP Spokesman Warns Ignoring Appeal Court Advice Risks Chaos

PDP National Publicity Secretary Ini Ememobong warns ignoring the Court of Appeal’s advice could lead to chaos within the party

Peoples Democratic Party National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, has warned that disregarding the advice of the Court of Appeal could result in “mutually assured destruction” for the party.

Ememobong made the remarks on Thursday during an appearance on Arise Television’s ‘Morning Show’ in response to the Court of Appeal upholding the Federal High Court ruling of 31 October 2025.

The ruling had restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognising the outcome of the 2025 PDP National Convention and urged warring party factions to pursue reconciliation.

“Disregarding the Court of Appeal’s advice will amount to mutually assured destruction,” Ememobong said.

He stressed that the reconciliation process should respect the majority opinion within the party, adding that individual members who oppose PDP decisions will be accountable for their personal stance, not the collective position.

The spokesman also warned against the politicisation of the judiciary, noting, “I said that the judicialization of politics will lead to the politicization of the judiciary, and that immediately this happens, the stream of the judiciary will be contaminated by the flowing deaths of politics.”
