Lawal’s move, confirmed after a stakeholders’ meeting at the Government House in Gusau, is hailed as a significant political development by the diaspora chapter.
APC France Chairperson, Amina Suzuki, stated that the defection strengthens support for President Bola Tinubu and signals growing confidence in his reform-driven administration.
“The North-West remains one of the most influential voting blocs in Nigeria’s democratic process. With this political realignment in Zamfara, it is evident that President Tinubu’s policies are gaining widespread acceptance,” Suzuki said.
She added that Lawal’s decision reflects both a personal political step and broader endorsement of the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope agenda, further consolidating the party’s structure ahead of future elections.
