APC Chieftain Calls Daniel Bwala ‘Image Destroyer’

APC chieftain Ibrahim Osinowo brands Daniel Bwala a liar and image destroyer, urging Nigerians to rely on official communication channels

Ibrahim Osinowo, a senior chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has described Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Policy Communication, as a “staunch liar” and “image destroyer.”

Osinowo made the remarks on Monday during an interview on News Central Television, amid public backlash over Bwala’s recent interview with Al Jazeera journalist Mehdi Hasan.

He insisted that Bwala does not speak on behalf of the Nigerian government, emphasising that the official spokesperson remains Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.

“Bayo Onanuga is the spokesperson of the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. Daniel is not the spokesperson; he is a policy person. Those policies are still meant to be signed off by Bayo Onanuga,” Osinowo said.

According to him, any official communication regarding the government should come through Onanuga or other designated officials, including Sunday Dare, and not Bwala.

Osinowo accused Bwala of attempting to rebuild his public image and gain national prominence through the Al Jazeera interview.

“Daniel does not go to the United Kingdom to discuss. He just went there to renew his image, which many people see as that of a staunch liar and image destroyer,” he added.
