Aiyedatiwa described the public service as the “engine room of governance,” stressing that while political leadership may change, the bureaucracy remains central to driving development in the state.

“I am aware that many of you have acted as accounting officers for long periods without commensurate remuneration, yet you continued to give your best,” Aiyedatiwa said.

Your appointment is a formal recognition of your stewardship and dedication. Be reminded that your new positions come with enormous responsibilities.

Work towards advancing our developmental blueprint and ensure that government policies translate into tangible benefits for the people.

The governor highlighted efforts to strengthen the workforce, noting that over 4,000 personnel had been recruited across sectors including teaching, health, legal services, agriculture, administration, culture, and taxation.

He urged the permanent secretaries to ensure policies and programmes were executed efficiently.

Mr. Bayo Philip, the state Head of Service, advised the appointees to demonstrate diligence, loyalty, and commitment, describing the appointments as the start of a new phase of responsibility.

“You have been chosen from several qualified officers. Prove the system right in selecting you,” Philip said.

“Work with the consciousness that the public service matters and that your diligent service matters.”
