The well-attended congress featured Governor Caleb Mutfwang, Deputy Governor Josephine Piyo, members of the National Assembly, Speaker and members of the Plateau State House of Assembly, local government chairmen, elders, party stakeholders, delegates, and observers from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Hon. Oscar Yelwa, Chairman of the State Congress Committee, commended party members for embracing consensus and democratic engagement, emphasizing that the congress was convened to formally usher in a new state executive to steer APC affairs.

In his acceptance speech, Bature pledged to reposition the party for greater strength ahead of the 2027 general elections, declaring that failure is not an option.

He highlighted his long-standing service to the state, having worked under three administrations of former governors Joshua Dariye, Simon Lalong, and the incumbent, and assured party faithful that the new executive would uphold APC ideals and meet the expectations of Plateau people.

Governor Mutfwang described the congress as historic and urged party members to remain united as one big family.

He emphasized aggressive grassroots mobilization, calling on every registered APC member in the state to campaign actively and recruit at least 10 new members.
