Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour Calls ADC Critics Laughable

Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour Calls ADC Critics Laughable, defending the party’s online registration drive and urging Nigerians to join at the ward level

Former Lagos State governorship candidate of the Labour Party, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, on Monday dismissed criticisms of the ongoing online registration drive by the African Democratic Congress, describing attempts to mock the exercise as “laughable.”

Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour Calls ADC Critics Laughable, he argued, is a reflection of detractors resorting to what he termed a “coping mechanism” in response to the growing number of ordinary Nigerians registering with the opposition party.

Posting on X, Rhodes-Vivour emphasised that the online registration represents only the initial stage of membership enrolment, with validation at the ward level being critical to confirming party affiliation.

“The actual confirmation takes place at the ward level. That’s how structure works. That’s how credibility is built,” he wrote, highlighting the importance of grassroots validation.

Rhodes-Vivour further suggested that it would be notable if prominent political figures appeared at their respective wards to confirm membership, noting the potential public attention such gestures could generate.

“The recent attempts to mock the massive online registration drive of the ADC are honestly laughable,” he said.

“I understand the ‘city boys’ need a coping mechanism to accommodate the frightening numbers of ordinary people registering with the opposition. Let them keep tweeting while you keep registering.”

The politician encouraged supporters to remain focused on expanding party membership despite online ridicule, stressing that credibility and structure are established through consistent ward-level participation.
