APP dissolves its Imo State Executive Committee, appointing an Interim Caretaker to manage party affairs and prepare for congresses across the state
The Action Peoples Party (APP) has dissolved its Imo State Executive Committee and established an eight-member Interim Caretaker Committee to manage party affairs until further notice.

The decision was reached during an emergency meeting of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) and approved by the National Executive Committee (NEC).
The Interim Caretaker Committee members include:
- Ernest Njesi – Chairman
- Emeka Onwukwe – Secretary
- Henry Alaribe – Deputy Chairman, Owerri Zone
- Ogemdi Ezemonye – Deputy Chairman, Orlu Zone
- Ernest Ezirim – Deputy Chairman, Okigwe Zone
- Cajethan Duke – Publicity Secretary
- Peter Etoh – Treasurer
Speaking to the committee, APP National Chairman Uchenna Nnadi emphasized the need to restore internal harmony and ensure inclusivity in party activities.
In line with statutory requirements, the party formally notified the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of its readiness to conduct congresses at ward, local government, and state levels. Scheduled dates are:
- Ward level: March 24, 2026
- Local Government level: March 26, 2026
- State level: March 28, 2026
