In a statement released by its national spokesman, Ini Ememobong, the PDP said the judgment validated that the Ibadan convention was conducted properly, transparently, and in full compliance with both party rules and Nigerian law.
The court, presided over by Honourable Justice Ladiran Akintola, granted all reliefs sought by claimant Folahan Malomo Adelabi, directing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognise and give full effect to the decisions and outcomes of the convention.
The suit, filed by Musibau Adetunbi, SAN, on behalf of Adelabi, sought to protect his constitutional right to freedom of peaceful assembly and association. It requested that the PDP conduct its elections as publicly advertised and mandated INEC to honour the convention’s results.
“The Honourable Court had earlier granted orders on November 3 and November 14, 2025, which formed the legal basis for the convention on November 15 and 16, 2025. This judgment affirms and gives final effect to those earlier orders,” the PDP statement read.
