APC 2026 National Convention committees unveiled, with Christopher Musa and top officials appointed to key roles
The All Progressives Congress has approved the composition of sub-committees for its 2026 National Convention, appointing Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd) and other senior figures to oversee critical aspects of the exercise.

The announcement, contained in a statement issued by National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka, outlined a comprehensive structure designed to ensure a transparent and credible convention.
The APC 2026 National Convention committees will coordinate operational, administrative, electoral, logistics, security and programme activities required for the seamless conduct of the event.
Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd) and Douye Diri will chair the Security Committee, with Mallam Nuhu Ribadu serving as Vice Chairman. The Election Committee will be led by Aminu Bello Masari, supported by Vice Chairmen Sen. Anyim Pius Anyim, Uba Sani and Monday Okpebholo.
The Screening Committee for aspirants will be chaired by Abiodun Abayomi Oyebanji, with Usman Ododo as Co-Chairman and Sen. Ken Nnamani as Vice Chairman. Umar Namadi will head the Screening Appeal Committee alongside Francis Nwifuru and Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Other strategic committees include the Finance Committee chaired by Sen. Hope Uzodimma, with Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu as Co-Chairman and Olawale Edun as Vice Chairman. The Media and Publicity Committee will be chaired by Mai Mala Buni, supported by Muhammed Idris Malagi and Sen. I. D. Gyang.
The Ceremonial, Programme and Events Committee will be led by Sen. Godswill Obot Akpabio, with Tajudeen Abbas as Co-Chairman and Sen. George Akume as Vice Chairman. The Delegates’ Accreditation Committee will be chaired by Prof. Babagana Umar Zulum.
The party also constituted committees on protocol, accommodation and transportation, entertainment and welfare, legal advisory, medical and emergency response, and secretariat support, assigning senior political office holders and party leaders to each.
Felix Morka urged committee members to discharge their duties diligently and in strict compliance with the party’s constitution and approved guidelines.

The APC reaffirmed its commitment to conducting a credible and transparent national convention, describing the preparations as a decisive step towards strengthening internal democracy and consolidating its progressive ideals.
