Enugu APC ward congresses praised as peaceful, credible, and inclusive, with 260 wards reporting smooth exercises under Governor Peter Mbah
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended its Enugu State chapter for successfully conducting ward congresses across all 260 political wards, describing the exercises as peaceful, free, fair, and credible.

The commendation was delivered by Hon. Solomon Funkekeme, Chairman of the APC Ward and Local Government Congresses Committee in Enugu State, during a briefing in the state capital on Thursday.
Hon. Funkekeme praised party chieftains and members for their decorum during the exercise, highlighting the unity of the party under the leadership of Governor Dr. Peter Mbah, who emerged as the state party leader in October 2025.
“We have come to Enugu State to supervise and monitor the ward and local government congresses under the instructions of our National Chairman and the National Working Committee,” Hon. Funkekeme said.
He added that the committee engaged stakeholders and monitored congresses across various wards, expressing satisfaction with the adherence to party guidelines and the conduct of members.
“The Enugu APC is united as a state. There are no issues at all. We have come to a united house to move forward under the able leadership of our governor, Dr. Peter Mbah,” he stated.
Hon. Funkekeme also commended the party’s commitment to inclusivity and gender mainstreaming, noting that all positions reserved for women and persons living with disabilities were respected during the ward congresses.
The chairman expressed optimism for the upcoming local government congresses across the state’s 17 local government areas, scheduled for Saturday, predicting that they would be conducted with the same peace and credibility.

Secretary of the Enugu APC Caretaker Committee, Hon. Eugene Odoh, thanked the national panel for their oversight and dedication, noting that they toured wards across all three senatorial zones to ensure transparency and fairness.
