Osun PDP endorses Tinubu for 2027 and backs Governor Adeleke’s 2026 re-election, urging intervention in local government crisis
Federal and State Assembly lawmakers of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State formally endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in 2027 and pledged support for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s 2026 re-election under the Accord Party at a stakeholders’ meeting in Osogbo on Saturday, February 15, 2026.

The endorsement, issued in a communiqué read by Deputy Minority Leader of the National Assembly, Senator Lere Oyewumi, also called on President Tinubu to intervene in the ongoing local government crisis in the state.
“Having reviewed the performance of the Governor in infrastructure development, workers’ welfare, healthcare, education, and democratic stability, we unanimously endorse and give our total support to His Excellency, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, for a second term in office in the interest of continuity, stability, and sustained progress for Osun State,” Oyewumi said.
The lawmakers passed a vote of confidence in the Osun PDP State Chairman, Hon Sunday Bisi, warning individuals falsely claiming party leadership roles to desist.
They also urged that “illegal occupants” of local government councils vacate their positions immediately to prevent further unrest.
When questioned on the party’s position for the 2027 presidential election, Oyewumi confirmed that nothing had changed.
“It is the party stance to back President Bola Tinubu in 2027 and also support Governor Ademola Adeleke in 2026,” he said.
The meeting was attended by Hon Bamidele Salam (Ede Federal Constituency), five other federal legislators, Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon Adewale Egbedun, his deputy, Hon Akinyode Oyewusi, and additional state assembly members.

The endorsement signals strong PDP alignment behind the re-election efforts of both Tinubu and Adeleke, highlighting the party’s continued influence across federal and state structures in Osun State.
