Ondo RHA Mobilises Youth on Tinubu’s Reforms Ahead of 2027

Ondo RHA mobilises citizens on Tinubu’s reforms and gathers grassroots feedback ahead of 2027 elections

Victor Olabimtan, former Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly and Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Ondo State, has outlined the group’s mission to educate citizens on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s national reforms while strengthening grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 general election.

Speaking in Akure during an interview with Correspondent Tosin Tope, Olabimtan said the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) were created to bridge the communication gap between government initiatives under the Renewed Hope Agenda and their intended beneficiaries.

The RHA disseminates accurate information, corrects misinformation, and collects structured feedback from the grassroots to ensure transparency and accountability.

“The RHA exists to present facts as they are and ensure Nigerians understand the realities of governance under the Tinubu administration,” Olabimtan said.

“It is a two-way engagement mechanism that promotes inclusiveness and allows citizens’ voices to be heard at the federal level.”

The initiative, he explained, utilises town halls, market visits, faith-based engagements, roadshows, and stakeholders’ forums to translate government policies into simple, practical terms for ordinary Nigerians.

Beyond public enlightenment, the RHA strengthens party outreach by linking APC structures from national leadership down to states, local governments, wards, and units, fostering unity and effective citizen engagement.

Olabimtan said that in Ondo State, the RHA is taking a bottom-up approach to establish structures at the local government, ward, and unit levels.

Early feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with citizens expressing renewed confidence in a practical feedback system connecting them directly to the federal government.

The former Speaker praised President Tinubu’s reforms, highlighting key policies such as fuel subsidy removal, foreign exchange restructuring, and the Naira-for-crude initiative, which allows local refineries to purchase crude oil in naira.

These measures, he said, are already stabilising the economy, improving local refining capacity, and supporting private investments like the Dangote Refinery.

“The Naira-for-crude policy is projected to save Nigeria $7.32 billion annually while easing forex pressure and stabilising fuel prices,” Olabimtan noted.

“These visible results form the foundation for meaningful grassroots engagement and support for the president’s agenda.”

He also addressed internal party dynamics, asserting that the APC has well-established mechanisms to manage disagreements.

Olabimtan said recent reforms, including the inauguration of the Committee on Strategy, Conflict Resolution, and Mobilisation, chaired by Governor Mai Mala Buni, are strengthening party cohesion and preparing structures for the 2027 elections.

“The Ondo State RHA is ready for voter engagement and election-day mobilisation,” Olabimtan said.

“Once local government, ward, and unit structures are fully operational, the initiative will systematically educate citizens, mobilise grassroots support, and ensure accountability in governance.”

The coordinator emphasised that the RHA represents a unique interface between government policies and citizens, ensuring that Nigerians fully understand and benefit from the reforms while providing constructive feedback to federal authorities.
