The appointment, effective January 1, 2026, marks a historic recognition of Nigerian legal talent on the international stage.
Based in Paris, Obamuroh will be one of just three new global partners in this specialised practice, underscoring his expertise in cross-border dispute resolution.
President Bola Tinubu has warmly congratulated Obamuroh on the appointment, praising it as a testament to Nigerian excellence.
“Tolu’s success represents the best of Nigeria’s new generation of professionals who continue to distinguish themselves worldwide,” Tinubu said in a statement released Friday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
The President described the milestone as a “powerful symbol of the Renewed Hope vision — a Nigeria whose citizens lead and excel across disciplines, defined by merit, integrity, and global impact.”
Obamuroh’s legal career has spanned complex, high-stakes international arbitrations involving sovereign states and multinational corporations, particularly in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
He also advises the Nigerian government on international legal matters under the supervision of the Attorney General of the Federation.
His elevation not only reflects personal distinction but also boosts Nigeria’s image in the international legal community.
White & Case LLP, headquartered in New York, is known for its elite global litigation and arbitration practice.
Obamuroh’s admission into its partner class places him at the forefront of international dispute resolution law.
President Tinubu urged young Nigerians to draw inspiration from Obamuroh’s rise.
“His journey of dedication, discipline, and service is one that our youth should emulate,” he said.
