Speaking on Arise News, Abati criticised Wike’s recent actions, stating that ministers cannot intimidate others or dictate to the media and military.
“The time has come for President Tinubu to call Wike to order. Nobody is above the law of the land, and no minister has the power to intimidate everybody. No minister has the power to dictate to everybody.
You dictate to the media, you dictate to the military, on the basis of what?” Abati questioned.
His comments follow a widely reported altercation between Wike and a naval officer in Abuja, which ignited national discussions about respect for uniformed personnel and the limits of ministerial authority.
Abati urged strict adherence to the rule of law, insisting that all public officials, regardless of rank, must operate within legal boundaries and respect institutional authority.

The FCT minister, for his part, has defended his actions, claiming he was enforcing lawful land regulations and denying any personal conflict with the military.
