Mailemo stated that recent debates within the party should not be interpreted as instability, stressing that such discussions are a normal feature of political organisation ahead of major elections.
He maintained that the NDC remains focused on strengthening its structures and presenting credible candidates.
According to him, the situation being observed within the party reflects routine political engagement rather than a breakdown in unity.
He added that contestation and disagreement are expected elements of democratic party processes.
“The party has mechanisms to absorb all these issues and move forward,” Mailemo said, noting that internal structures remain active in managing emerging concerns.
Kwankwasiyya spokesperson also addressed speculation surrounding party discipline and internal alignment, insisting that the movement remains firmly committed to organisational order and party success.
He described Kwankwasiyya as a disciplined bloc that operates strictly within established political frameworks.
Mailemo further explained that party primaries were conducted on the 29th of the previous month alongside consensus arrangements involving key stakeholders.
He maintained that the processes were completed in line with electoral guidelines and without exclusion of participants.
He also confirmed that names of candidates emerging from the exercise had already been forwarded to party leadership, describing the procedures as transparent and properly executed.
“The deal breaker for Kwankwasiyya has always been bending the rules,” he said, reinforcing the group’s adherence to internal regulations and electoral laws.
While acknowledging that differing interpretations of recent developments have circulated publicly, Mailemo said such narratives only emerged after the completion of the primaries.
He insisted that no formal complaints were raised during the conduct of the exercise.
