Ibrahim Mohammed Bello announced his decision in a statement made available to journalists, explaining that persistent leadership disputes and unresolved litigations within the PDP had significantly weakened the party’s structure and effectiveness.
According to Ibrahim Mohammed Bello, the ongoing internal conflicts made it increasingly difficult for committed members to contribute meaningfully to the party’s growth and its democratic responsibilities. He described the situation as a major factor influencing his departure.
The lawmaker stated that his decision followed extensive consultations with his constituents and key political stakeholders, adding that the move was aimed at better serving the interests of the people he represents.
He further noted that joining the APC would enhance his ability to deliver effective representation and improve development outcomes for his constituency.
Ibrahim Mohammed Bello emphasised that the switch was made in what he described as the best interest of his constituents.
The lawmaker confirmed that his resignation letter had been submitted to the PDP Ward Chairman of Nasarawa 1 Ward.
He also disclosed that the Speaker of the House of Representatives had been formally notified of his defection in line with legislative procedures.
