Oyetola rejects claims of meddling in APC Osun primary, with aide Bolaji Akinola calling allegations by Omisore “baseless and misleading”
Special Adviser to the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Bolaji Akinola, has rejected allegations by governorship aspirant Senator Iyiola Omisore that former Governor Dr.

Adegboyega Oyetola interfered in the All Progressives Congress (APC) screening process for the Osun State governorship primary.
In a statement issued on Monday, Akinola described Omisore’s claims as “totally false” and “misleading,” emphasising that Oyetola had no direct or indirect involvement in the decisions of the Screening Committee or the Screening Appeal Panel for the December 13 primary election.
“Dr. Oyetola did not, and could not have meddled in the screening exercise or in the affairs of the Screening Committee and the Screening Appeal Panel,” Akinola said.
The adviser highlighted that both bodies operate as independent organs under the APC Constitution, empowered to conduct their duties without interference.
He stated that any suggestion of undue influence was “wrong, unfair and completely unfounded.”
Akinola further noted that Oyetola, as a former governor and respected leader of the APC in Osun State, has consistently upheld principles of fairness, transparency, and strict adherence to party rules.
“He will never interfere in a process where he has no statutory role,” Akinola added, urging aspirants to channel any complaints through the party’s established mechanisms.
