South-West Governors convene in Ibadan, pledging combined technology and state police to enhance regional security in Nigeria
Ibadan, Oyo State – November 25, 2025:The six South-West Governors convened in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, to deliberate on regional security and pressing socio-political issues affecting their states and Nigeria at large.

The Forum’s Chairman and Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, announced in a communique that all six states have agreed to collaborate using combined technology to bolster security.
The governors also emphasised the urgent need for state police in the region.
During the meeting, the governors expressed condolences to President Bola Tinubuover recent abductions and banditry in Kebbi, Niger, Kwara, and other parts of the country.
They additionally urged the Federal Government to commence deployment of forest guards to protect the South-West.
The communique highlighted a shared commitment among the governors to safeguard citizens and strengthen regional security frameworks through both technological collaboration and policy reforms.
