PDP National Convention Hearing Adjourned Again

PDP National Convention hearing adjourned by Oyo State High Court to November 12, 2025, as tensions rise and journalists are barred from proceedings.

The hearing challenging the PDP National Convention was adjourned again on Monday by Justice Ladiran Akintola of the Oyo State High Court, Ibadan. The court proceedings took place under heightened security, with journalists barred from entry.

Justice Akintola adjourned the Motion on Notice filed by Folahan Malomo Adelabi against the PDP, its Acting National Chairman, and others to Wednesday, November 12, 2025. The judge urged all parties to file and exchange their processes to facilitate an effective substantive hearing.

Last week, the court had ruled on an ex-parte motion permitting the PDP to proceed with its planned National Convention in Ibadan, while scheduling Monday for the hearing of Adelabi’s motion.

Adelabi is seeking an order restraining the PDP leadership—including Acting National Chairman Umar Iliya Damagum, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri (for himself and members of the National Convention Organising Committee), and INEC—from taking any action that could disrupt or frustrate the convention.

The court previously directed the PDP to comply strictly with its issued timetable, guidelines, and schedule for the convention.

Monday’s adjournment came amid tight security. Journalists attempting to cover the hearing were denied access, with operatives stationed at key points across the court premises. The move has intensified speculation about the high tension surrounding the case.
