APC Concerned Group in Bauchi urges party leaders to reject Senator Kaila’s defection, citing loyalty and lack of performance in PDP.
Supporters of the All Progressives Congress Concerned Group (APCCG) in Bauchi State have called on APC leadership to reject the reported defection bid by Senator Samaila Dahuwa Kaila from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a strongly worded letter addressed to the party’s federal and state leadership on Thursday in Abuja, the group expressed grave concerns that admitting the senator could weaken the APC’s ongoing efforts to rebuild its base in Bauchi.
The letter, titled “A Call to the APC Leadership: Reject Senator Samaila Dahuwa Kaila’s Defection Bid,” criticised the senator’s performance and questioned his motives, suggesting his defection was primarily driven by a desire for an automatic ticket ahead of the 2027 elections.
“We, the concerned members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State, are shocked and dismayed by the news of Senator Samaila Dahuwa Kaila’s intention to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to our great party,” the letter stated.
The group further slammed Senator Kaila’s record, claiming a lack of meaningful development in his constituency, Bauchi North.
“Senator Kaila’s track record in the PDP is nothing short of underwhelming. During his tenure, he has failed to deliver meaningful projects and development to his constituency, Bauchi North,” the statement read.
They argued that allowing Senator Kaila’s entry into the APC would discourage loyal party members and reward disloyalty.
“Allowing him into the APC will discourage loyal members who have worked tirelessly to build the party and reward incompetence and disloyalty,” the letter emphasised.
The group called on APC leaders to prioritise merit and loyalty, warning that admitting Kaila would send the wrong message to both party members and the wider public.
When contacted, a close associate of Senator Kaila dismissed the concerns as baseless speculation, stating that the senator would not respond to what he termed “faceless groups.”

“Has he told anyone that he is leaving the PDP? Why have they entered panic mode based on mere speculation?” the associate said.
