Prof Leroy Edozien urges Anioma political reconciliation in Delta State, calling on Senators Nwoko and Nwaoboshi to unite for the region’s collective good
Professor Leroy Edozien, a respected chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Delta State, has called for Anioma political reconciliation in Delta State.

He urged Senators Ned Nwoko and Peter Nwaoboshi to set aside personal grievances and prioritise the common interest of Anioma people.
Speaking during a visit from the Ugo-Anioma Movement, Edozien welcomed the delegation warmly and reflected on his long-standing commitment to the Anioma agenda.
“I started supporting the bill for Anioma creation when Senator Nwoko was still in PDP. For me, it’s never been about politics. It’s about what is good for us,” he said.
Edozien explained that disunity among leaders in Anioma was damaging the broader push for statehood.
He expressed concern that ongoing tensions between Nwoko and Nwaoboshi threatened the collective interest of the region.
“I have offered to travel to Abuja to get them to meet privately. They must understand that when it comes to Anioma, we must work together,” he added.
He acknowledged the political complexities surrounding the creation of Anioma State but insisted the people must remain focused.
His remarks followed concerns raised by Ugo-Anioma Movement leader, Mr Victor Sorokwu, who appealed for Edozien’s intervention in reconciling the senators.
Sorokwu emphasised that unity among Anioma leaders was crucial to making progress in the fight for statehood.

In recognition of Edozien’s efforts, the group conferred on him the title of Ugo-Anioma Patron.
