KWAM 1 introduces daughter Damilola Marshall to Obafemi Hamzat as she seeks the Surulere Constituency II seat in the Lagos Assembly in 2027
Fuji music icon Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, popularly known as KWAM 1, has drawn attention after a video showed him introducing his daughter, Damilola Marshall, to Lagos State Deputy Governor and All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate Obafemi Hamzat.

In the video circulating on social media, the veteran musician called his daughter forward before telling Hamzat, “I hand her over to you.”
Hamzat responded with laughter and gestured towards a seat for Damilola, who appeared amused by her father’s gesture.
KWAM 1 was also seen singing in Yoruba while making the introduction, in what appeared to be a light-hearted show of support for his daughter’s political aspiration.
Damilola Marshall is seeking to represent Surulere Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly in the 2027 general elections.
She announced her intention to contest the seat on March 17, 2026, through a post on her Instagram page.
The lawyer said she was prepared to serve the people of the constituency and bring her professional experience to public office.
“I am excited to share that I, Barr. Damilola Ayinde Marshal, am stepping forward to serve the good people of Surulere Constituency 2 at the Lagos State House of Assembly,” she wrote.
Damilola said her 12 years of legal practice had provided her with valuable insight into governance, justice and the needs of the community she hopes to represent.
She also pledged to focus on the interests of young people, expressing her readiness to serve if elected.
Damilola Marshall currently serves as Senior Special Assistant to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tourism.
Her political ambition comes as the 2027 election cycle gathers momentum in Lagos, with political parties and aspirants beginning to position themselves for various elective positions.

The viral video has since generated reactions on social media, particularly because of KWAM 1’s public introduction of his daughter to Hamzat, who is seeking to succeed Sanwo-Olu as Lagos governor.
