Isaac Fayose Urges Nigerians to Vote Tinubu Out in 2027

Isaac Fayose urges Nigerians to vote President Bola Tinubu out in 2027, criticising economic hardship and the widening gap between rich and poor

Isaac Fayose, younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, has urged Nigerians to vote President Bola Tinubu out of office in the 2027 general election, citing economic hardship and growing inequality across the country.

Fayose made the call in a video shared on his official Facebook page on Friday, October 9, 2026, in which he criticised the state of the economy and called on Nigerians to unite behind efforts to change the government through the ballot box.

He expressed concern over what he described as a widening gap between wealthy Nigerians and those struggling to meet their basic needs, arguing that the economy should work for a broader section of the population.

In the video, Fayose argued that economic prosperity depends on wealth circulating through different sectors of society rather than remaining concentrated in the hands of a few individuals.

He warned that even Nigerians who currently enjoy financial comfort could face difficulties if the country’s economic challenges persist.

“You see this APC government, if you’re not poor yet, you will soon be poor,” he said.

Fayose also questioned the quality of public services available to wealthy Nigerians, pointing to the tendency of some affluent individuals to seek medical treatment abroad despite their financial resources.

He further raised concerns about insecurity, arguing that the need for heavy security protection among wealthy people reflected wider problems in the country.

Calling for a change in leadership, Fayose urged Nigerians to participate in the 2027 election and vote against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

“Go to the streets of Abuja, everything is dead. We must put the sweetness back by voting out this government. Tinubu must go by fire, by thunder,” he said.

His remarks reflect his opposition to the Tinubu administration and his call for voters to use the forthcoming election to express their dissatisfaction with the government’s performance.

However, the comments represent Fayose’s personal political position. The video, as reported, did not include a response from the Presidency or the APC.

With the 2027 general election approaching, debates over the economy, security, public services and the cost of living are likely to remain prominent in Nigeria’s political discourse.

Fayose’s appeal adds to public criticism of the federal government’s handling of economic challenges, although voters will ultimately decide their preferences at the polls.

The election is expected to provide an opportunity for Nigerians to assess the administration’s record and determine whether they want a continuation of its policies or a change in leadership.
