Four men face charges over alleged APC posters damage in Lagos after police accused them of conspiracy, malicious damage and breach of peace
Four men have appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos over the alleged damage of All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign posters in the Mile 2 area of the state.

The defendants, Abdulmajeed Yahaya, 30, Biliaminu Sidi, 25, Mansur Usman, 22, and Aminu Wadatau, 26, were arraigned on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
They face a three-count charge of conspiracy, malicious damage and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.
Prosecutor Josephine Ikhayere told the court that the defendants and others who are still at large allegedly committed the offences on August 30 at about 1:12pm at Mile 2, within the Lagos Magisterial District.
According to the prosecution, the four men allegedly conspired to damage APC campaign posters and acted in a manner capable of causing a breach of peace.
The prosecutor further alleged that the defendants wilfully and maliciously damaged the posters, although the value of the materials involved had not yet been established.
The charges were brought under Sections 168, 350 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
Following their pleas, Magistrate Lateef Owolabi granted each defendant bail of N500,000, with two reliable sureties required to provide guarantees in the same amount.
The court subsequently adjourned the matter until November 25, 2026, for further proceedings.
The allegations have not been established in court, and the four defendants remain presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
The case comes against the backdrop of increasing political activity ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections, when campaign materials and public political displays are expected to become more prominent across Lagos and other states.

For the defendants, the next stage of the case will come when the matter returns to court in November, while the prosecution is expected to present further evidence relating to the alleged APC posters damage.
