INEC 2027 Presidential Candidates list has been displayed nationwide as the electoral body publishes credentials and running mates ahead of polls
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), led by Chairman Professor Joash Amupitan, has displayed the details of 19 presidential candidates and their running mates ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections, opening the nomination records for public scrutiny across the country.

The 2027 presidential candidates display includes candidates nominated by various political parties and forms part of the commission’s statutory responsibility to promote transparency and accountability in the electoral process.
The electoral body published the candidates’ personal information, credentials and affidavits contained in Form EC9 at its offices nationwide, allowing members of the public to examine the documents submitted during the nomination process.
INEC said the exercise was carried out in accordance with Section 29(3) of the Electoral Act, 2026, which requires the commission to publish the personal particulars of candidates within 21 days of receiving nominations from political parties.
The commission explained that the publication provides an opportunity for citizens and interested parties to review the information submitted by candidates before the election takes place.
The documents are available for inspection at INEC state and local government offices nationwide, reinforcing the electoral body’s commitment to openness throughout the election preparation process.
The release of the candidates’ details marks another important stage in Nigeria’s lengthy electoral timetable as political parties intensify preparations for the 2027 presidential contest.
Election observers say the public display of candidate information remains a crucial part of the democratic process because it enables scrutiny of eligibility records and strengthens confidence in electoral procedures.
