The state chairman of the party, Abraham Amah, made the clarification on Thursday during a press briefing at the PDP State Secretariat in Umuahia, where he addressed questions on possible collaboration with other political parties.
Amah said the PDP in Abia State is not in any form of agreement with any political group, stressing that individuals making such claims are not speaking for the party leadership.
“As far as we are concerned, as at today, we do not have any agreement with any other political party,” Amah said.
He added that the party has already concluded its internal processes, including the successful uploading of candidates’ names for various elective positions to the Independent National Electoral Commission portal, positioning it for a full-scale election campaign.
According to him, the PDP is not only organised but also focused on strengthening its internal structure and resolving grievances arising from its primaries.
“We are prepared to go into the 2027 election battle without seeking the support of any other party or donating our platform to any other political party to use,” he said.
Amah also dismissed claims of factional divisions within the Abia PDP, insisting that the party remains unified under his leadership and fully aligned with national party structures.
He further noted that efforts are ongoing to reconcile aggrieved aspirants from the party’s primaries as part of preparations for the upcoming elections.
“We do not have any such agreement with anybody,” he added, reiterating the party’s position on the issue.
During the same briefing, the PDP governorship candidate in Abia State, Kelechi Anosike, outlined parts of his campaign proposals, including a pledge to increase the minimum wage for civil servants in the state to ₦90,000 if elected governor.
Anosike criticised the current salary structure in the state, alleging inconsistencies in wage payments and calling for reforms in the civil service system.

The PDP leadership, however, maintained that its focus remains on strengthening party unity and preparing for a competitive electoral outing in 2027 without entering into coalitions or alliances.
