Oyo APC releases its 2027 candidates list, including governorship, senatorial and Assembly nominees ahead of Nigeria’s general elections
The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on 2 July 2026 released its list of candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections, unveiling nominees for governorship, senatorial districts, House of Representatives seats and the State House of Assembly.

The announcement, obtained by journalists on Thursday, confirmed Barrister Sharafadeen Alli as the party’s governorship candidate for Oyo State, positioning him as the APC’s flag bearer in what is expected to be a closely contested race.
For the senatorial districts, the party named Senator Yunus Akintunde for Oyo Central, Hon. Aderemi Oseni for Oyo South, and Mrs Hannah Ogunesan for Oyo North, setting the stage for renewed political competition across the state’s three zones.
The list also includes candidates for all 14 federal constituencies in Oyo State, alongside 32 aspirants selected for the 32 seats in the State House of Assembly, completing the party’s statewide slate ahead of the polls.
Party officials have described the release as a key step in strengthening internal organisation and preparing for voter engagement ahead of the 2027 elections, which are already beginning to shape political alignments across Nigeria.
The Oyo APC 2027 candidates list is expected to intensify political activity in the state, where parties are positioning themselves early in anticipation of a highly competitive electoral cycle.
