Seriake Dickson NDC primary guidelines: party leader says only winners of primaries will proceed to nomination and documentation process

The National leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Seriake Dickson, has announced that only aspirants who win the party’s primaries will proceed to pay nomination fees and complete documentation processes ahead of the general elections.

Dickson disclosed this in a statement posted on his verified X handle on Wednesday, outlining key decisions reached at a joint meeting of party leadership and electoral committees.

The meeting was attended by Cleopas Moses, the NDC national chairman, presidential aspirant Peter Obi, members of the National Working Committee (NWC), as well as representatives of the selection and screening committees.

According to Dickson, all individuals who purchased Expression of Interest forms will be allowed to participate in the primaries across their respective constituencies.

However, he clarified that only successful candidates emerging from the primaries will proceed to the party secretariat for documentation and payment of nomination fees.

“Only successful candidates will report to the party secretariat for documentation and, in the process, pay for nomination forms and complete other necessary forms,” the statement read.

He added that teams have been deployed across all states to conduct the primaries with the support of stakeholders and local leaders, ensuring a structured and transparent process.

Dickson also emphasised that the party remains committed to inclusiveness, particularly encouraging youth and women participation, while urging electoral teams to prioritise candidates with strong electoral potential.
