Aliero Emerges APC Consensus Candidate in Kebbi Central

Muhammad Aliero emerges APC consensus candidate for Kebbi Central after aspirants step down in a unity-driven primary election

Muhammad Adamu Aliero has emerged as the consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Kebbi Central Senatorial District following the party’s primary election held on Monday in Birnin Kebbi.

The former governor and serving senator was affirmed at the Haliru Abdu Stadium after other aspirants in the race stepped down following consultations with party leaders and stakeholders.

His emergence was confirmed by the APC State Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Kana Zuru, who announced him as the consensus flag bearer after verifying the withdrawal of other contestants.

Aliero described the process as a reflection of unity and political maturity within the party in Kebbi State, expressing appreciation to Governor Nasir Idris and party members for their support.

He said the peaceful outcome demonstrated APC’s internal cohesion and readiness ahead of future elections.

The senator pledged to continue prioritising programmes aimed at improving education, healthcare, agriculture, youth empowerment, and infrastructure development in the senatorial district.

Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris, who attended the event, commended aspirants who stepped down in the interest of unity, including Alhaji Kabiru Sani Giant.

He also praised the reconciliation committee led by former Governor Sa’idu Usman Nasamu Dakingari for resolving disputes across senatorial districts.

The governor urged party members to remain united and focused on securing victory in the 2027 general elections.

The announcement was greeted with celebration from party supporters present at the venue.
