The nomination form was picked on Thursday at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja, marking his formal entry into the 2027 presidential race.

YMK said his decision to join the race was driven by a desire to improve governance standards and raise the living conditions of Nigerians across all sectors of society.

He stated that his ambition is to promote a system that ensures accountability, fairness, and improved welfare for citizens, while positioning himself as a candidate committed to national transformation.

Speaking at the event, the Director-General of the YMK Campaign Organisation, Dr Aliyu Abdullahi Jibia, described the development as a demonstration of seriousness and commitment to national rebuilding.

Jibia explained that the choice of the Peoples Redemption Party was based on its ideological foundation and long-standing focus on the welfare of ordinary Nigerians and vulnerable groups.

“We have shown the world today that we are the Peoples Redemption Party, and we are going to contest on the platform of the party,” he said.

Also speaking, the National Women Leader of the campaign organisation, Dr Maryam Ringim, called on women across the country to intensify grassroots mobilisation and participation ahead of the party primaries.
